Portraits in Embroidery

topic posted Mon, May 1, 2006 - 8:07 AM by  offlineBibia
I am new here! I love embroidery! I want to learn to do portraits in embroidery. First off, how do you make the pattern? Do I need to take it to the photo store?
Thanks

What a cool idea! Kind of like a thread tattoo. Hell yeah. I will be watching this thread closely.

i want to embroider something with a tattoo motif too! i have a thing for that sacred heart motif, so that will probably be what i do. there are some cool sublime stitching transfers that have tattoo stuff, the 'tattoo your towels', and the new mitch o'connell one, that seems kinda tattoo-y too! (i have them both too!) portraits sound really hard to do! i want to see that one done...did you ever do that? (since this is a kind of old post!)

I've not ever done one, but I saw one done on the Jenny Hart website (I think that's where it was). Really unique looking. I'm still looking on how to make a pattern for portrait.
